Will and Ella entered the school art contest this year. They both chose to do a 3 dimensional work of art. Will's reflected his love for chess and he really learned a lot working with clay! And I was impressed with how much Ella did on her aquarium! She thought of the coral and kelp and different fish all on her own.

Leadership Day (4-30-12)
Our kids had Leadership Day where parents could walk around the school and visit classrooms and view the children's artwork. Ella had these beautiful drawings, stories, and crafts displayed.
Will also had a few things displayed. This was a racetrack showing his progress in writing.
Will also got to give a speech on the 7-habits. He worked hard memorizing it and got to be the representative for his whole grade. He did a great job.

Spring (2012)
I told Alex to play with Ian and this is what he came up with. Hey, at least they were having fun!
Ian looked like such a big boy sitting up, chilling in the chair! Too cute!
Somehow they all managed to balance on the roller. Ian just fits anywhere.
Some of our fun adventures this spring were hunting and killing wasps. They were finding their way into our house when we got a sudden heat wave. We discovered this huge nest along with several smaller ones inside our swamp cooler. We had an amazing handy-man knock them all down (with his bare hands I might add). Hopefully, we will see less of these nasty things.
Our Spring artwork. Ella drew a picture of our 5 baby chicks. Among other adventures, we decided to buy some adorable baby chicks to raise. There are two orange Orpingtons (Sandy and Sienna), a black sexlink (Speedy), a white Leghorn (Angel), and an Ameraucana (Snuggles).
We have so much fun petting and holding them.

Easter!
The kids got these adorable little animals for Easter this year. They also got some cute stamps and stencils and a little toy in their baskets. I love the bright colors of Easter, the softening in the cold winter air and the rain. The blossoms are also breathtaking. Spring is a breath of fresh air and a joyful time of year. I am so grateful for my sweet kids. They were really kind to each other this morning. I could use more days like this!
Ian was very eager to open his Easter eggs. Good thing there were only 3.
There were a couple of these cute little chicks that if held in the palm of their hands would chirp. I thought it was nice since I don't let them hold the live chicks very often. Especially since Ian tried grabbing one by the head, then when getting his hand around another had a hard time letting go. He seems to love everything with a passion!
