Field Day

Our last big hurrah for school was field day on May 29. We played soccer with a beach ball and swim noodles, played with a parachute, did water relays, a three legged race, human hula hoop chain, minute to win it games, and capture the flag.

Alex and Ian found some very nice friends to push them on the swings. Then, they played on the playground for the final 3 hours. We had small kids bused over to the park in the morning, and then older kids for the afternoon. It was about 6 hours in the park and I was amazed at how well Ian and Alex did.

The kids seemed to have a lot of fun. In this game, two kids got vaseline on their nose and had to see how many cotton balls they could drop into the bowl. Hilarious laughter ensued...
It was a great day and great way to end a very busy year!

Lagoon!

On May 25, we went to Lagoon. Ian was so cute riding the rides for the first time. His first ride was some mini-Jeeps that went around a track. He'd watch them go then run over to me and squeeze my leg as hard as he could and then run back and watch. I think I got twenty squeezes that morning. So cute!

Will was a big help with Ian and Alex. He rode a car and plane with Ian, helped him on and off, and made it so fun!

Ella became Miss Daring this time. She rode Colossus, Spider and the Mouse with Kimball.
The girl has no fear!

All of us in one bucket on the Ferris Wheel!

Alex complained that this Dinosaur Drop ride would be boring because it just went up and down. The look of surprise on his face when it dropped was priceless. He giggled through the whole thing and loved it!

Alex's Kindergarten Graduation (part 2)

Alex had so much fun in his Kindergarten. He started learning to read and did spelling tests, made cute crafts and learned a lot of math. He also got to have so much fun with karate, dance and music. I think it was great for him to have a creative outlet and that encouraged him to learn and work hard.
We'll see how First Grade goes!

Alex's Kindergarten Graduation

Alex had the cutest Kindergarten graduation. I took a bunch of fun videos. They are just  few seconds each, but give you a taste of the day. He also did some karate, a couple songs and a cute poem. If you only want to watch a couple, I'd recommend the last two or three. :)

Happy Birthday Ella!

Ella turned 8 years old this year! She wanted an animal-themed party. We played this game where someone had to find the right stuffed animal in the pile. I think Ella had an unfair advantage on this one...

Everyone  with their masks. Ella wanted jungle decorations, so we put blue streamers up for the sky and then green ones hanging down for leaves. All the girls had so much fun and seemed to get a long great. Talk about energy!

Pin the nose on the tiger!

The girls had yummy sandwiches, watermelon, and animal cookies followed by cake and ice cream!

The next day we had a couple of small family gifts. Ella got this cute little fox from Grandma Bobbi. And a pretty dress from us.

Playdate!

Jane came over to play and she and Ian splashed around in the kiddie pool for a bit.

At first Ian refused to put on his swimsuit or get in. Then, we couldn't get him out again.

Ian was a little too rough for Jane. She didn't like being left alone with that splash monster.
Ella and Alex had fun swimming and floating a little later.

Happy Mother's Day

Ella made these beautiful pictures for me and Will made a whole packet of beautifully handwritten notes for me. Alex made the cute flower card and gave me a sweet magnet with his picture in it. Happy Mother's Day!
